Founded over 50 years ago, today's SBA is one of the
  nation's leading investment managers of public pension
  funds. Nearly 80% of the assets managed by the SBA are
  in the Florida Retirement System (FRS) Pension Plan Trust
  Fund. Over the last 30 years, the SBA's undiluted focus on
  prudent, cost-effective and risk-controlled long-term
  investment strategies has produced superior cumulative
  performance. The resulting growth in the FRS Pension Plan
  Trust Fund has benefited members and beneficiaries,
  participating employers and Florida's taxpayers.

  In 2005, Wilshire Associates ranked the FRS Pension Plan
  as the best-funded statewide pension plan. The FRS
  Pension Plan had the highest ratio of actuarial valuation of
  assets to liabilities, or "funded ratio," among state
  retirement plans. The Trustees' strong leadership,
  the Florida Legislature’s good public policy, and our solid
  investment performance formed the basis for this exemplary
  accomplishment.
